Meet Naz Taylor

From the Newsroom to the Boardroom

The media gives you a voice. It gives you the power of a platform.

That’s one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned during more than 25 years working on both sides of the media, as a journalist telling stories and as a public relations strategist helping businesses become part of them.

I’ve seen firsthand how entrepreneurs, organizations, and purpose-driven businesses can use that platform to build credibility, influence conversations, inspire change, and create lasting impact. That’s the power of public relations when it’s done well.

But my passion for small business started long before I ever worked in media.

I grew up watching my father pour his heart into building his business so our family could thrive. His business wasn’t simply how he earned a living. It was part of the fabric of our family.

Today, I’m surrounded by entrepreneurs. My husband owns a business, I own a business, and many of my closest friends are entrepreneurs. I’ve seen firsthand the courage, resilience, and sacrifice it takes to build something from the ground up.

Those experiences shaped the way I see the world. I believe the success of small business is the success of our communities.

To me, community isn’t simply about living in the same neighbourhood or belonging to the same social circle. It’s about people supporting one another, sharing ideas, creating opportunities, and contributing something meaningful. Every entrepreneur solving a problem, creating jobs, serving customers, or giving back has the potential to strengthen the communities around them.

I believe the success of small business is the success of our communities.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked as a reporter, producer, writer, television host, and public relations strategist. From my early years at Global TV and CBC to representing entrepreneurs, nonprofits, global brands, and purpose-driven organizations, one thing has remained constant. I’ve always believed that every great business has a story worth telling.

Over the years, I’ve worked across industries ranging from health, philanthropy, government, education, food, fashion, beauty, entertainment, sport, and technology. Despite their differences, I kept seeing the same challenge.

Again and again, I met passionate entrepreneurs who knew they needed public relations but had no idea where to start. Many believed media coverage was reserved for businesses with large marketing budgets or expensive agency retainers.

I knew that wasn’t true.

Because some of the most compelling stories don’t come from the biggest companies. They come from passionate people doing meaningful work.

Although I loved working in public relations, my heart kept calling me toward a broader purpose. I didn’t just want to do PR for businesses. I wanted to empower business owners to do it for themselves.

I wanted to help entrepreneurs discover that they already have what they need to tell compelling stories, build credibility, and earn meaningful media coverage. They simply need the knowledge, confidence, and a proven system to guide them.

That’s why I created Online PR Pro. That belief became The PR Propellor™.

Built around The PR Propellor System™, it combines more than 25 years of real-world media experience with the principles of systems thinking to help entrepreneurs understand public relations in an entirely new way. Rather than teaching disconnected tactics, it teaches how every part of your PR, your message, your audience, your credibility, your relationships, your visibility, and your reputation works together as one interconnected system.

The PR Propellor System™
  • Your message
  • Your audience
  • Your credibility
  • Your visibility
  • Your relationships
  • Your reputation

Because once you understand the system, you stop chasing attention and start building trust.

Through Online PR Pro, I’ve continued to advise select organizations on strategic communications, media relations, and brand positioning. Those experiences continue to shape how I think about leadership, community, trust, and the role communication plays in creating meaningful change.

At the end of the day, my goal has never simply been to help businesses get media coverage. It’s to help good businesses be seen.

There are so many incredible entrepreneurs with ideas, products, and services that have the power to make our communities, and our world, better. They deserve to have their stories heard.

And if I can help more people build businesses that strengthen their communities by giving them the knowledge and confidence to tell their own stories, then I’ll know I’ve done what I set out to do.

I’d love to help you tell yours.

Naz Taylor
